As part of an ongoing Core Analysis Task (CAT), the CSIAC successfully completed the static testing of an Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Experimentation System (AUES) for autonomous UAS Command and Control (C2). In addition, the CSIAC team also completed pilot training in preparation for the live flight testing of the Lockheed Martin Desert Hawk III fixed wing UAS equipped with the AUES control system. These efforts were performed in support of an ongoing task for the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) to introduce and test new autonomous C2 capabilities for multiple UAS flight operations. Quanterion Solutions is the prime contractor operating the Cyber Security and Information Systems and Information Analysis Center (CSIAC), a DoD center of excellence for cybersecurity, software engineering and modeling and simulation. Quanterion has teamed with AgentFly Technologies and the Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research (NUAIR) Alliance to complete this effort, and will perform the UAS flight test and experimentation at Griffiss’ Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) UAS Test Site in the early Spring of 2016.
